The Slayed Afro

Happy Saturday Darling Divas!!

Yes, I know that this isn’t a day that I usually post, BUT I meant to come up here yesterday, and that just didn’t happen. So I thought to myself why not put it up today? And obviously, here that post is. I have new hair!! I decided to go big with it this time around, and I am in love with it!!! So in today’s mini-blogpost I am just sharing my new hairdo, and I hope you all will enjoy! So sit back, what the video, and meet me below for more details!

Did you all enjoy? I hope so! I am definitely lovingggg my new look! Click here to cast your vote in the poll!  Being blonde is always fun for me, so I decided to take it back for a second. I dug into my archives and found some blonde pics of me. Oh, how I miss bleach sometimes.

So I wanted to get back to my blonde roots, but this time, no bleach was required! For this crochet install, I searched around for blonde hair that had dark roots because I wanted to look natural. I went to my beauty supply store and was lucky to find what I wanted!!

So this is the type of hair I used to achieve my look. The Durban Twist hair from Harlem125. I used three packs of RT27, and one pack of F1B/27. This is some big hair yall!!! So, for now, im rocking it as an afro, but I plan to put curls in soon.  This hair can do so many things, and is super soft! So click here to purchase online!  The website I linked is a longer length and comes in different colors. If you’re looking for the same hair as mine, I would look at your local beauty supply store, or do a further search online!

So, ladies, that’s it for today’s mini-blogpost! Be sure to come right back here next week for two new blogposts! ANNDDD a special announcement is dropping next Saturday so get ready!!! Feel free to follow me on my social media. They are all linked above!! I love you lots like tater tots, I hope you have a great weekend, and I will see you Monday!

Green With Envy

Hello, All My Darling Divas!

Welcome back to another day here on the blog! As promised, I am back today to talk all about my green hair! Now this was supposed to be video, but I am still suffering some technical difficulties so hopefully this is ok! I decided to take a break from crochet braids and try something new for my graduation. This hairstyle has a bit of a story, so let me just start from there.

I was first supposed to have this hairstyle for my birthday this past January. I ordered it to match my dress and everything! But unfortunately, there was a terrible snowstorm so my hair delivery got delayed and ended up coming after my birthday.

You can click here to check out my GRWM Bday post for more details. This green hair would have looked bomb with this outfit! But the purple hair was just fine.

So I thought hmm when will I be able to use this hair? I bought it so I’m not going to waste it. Then it hit me. GRADUATION! How cool and different would it be if I rocked this hair to graduation? And I did and it looks fabulous!
You can click here to check out my graduation post from yesterday.

Now since I didn’t get crochet braids I had to look and find somebody to install this hair. I headed over to StyleSeat and started to find some research to find some stylist in my area. I came across a stylist named Jaz who is located in Maplewood. I originally went to her in January to get a consultation and she told me exactly what hair to get, and what style I would be getting which would be a quick weave. She was really great and helped make this process so much easier.

You can click here to locate Jaz on StyleSeat. There you will be able to find a description of the services she offers, you can schedule an appointment, and read recommendations from her other clients. Styleseat is the perfect way to find beauty services in your area! Check it out. StyleSeat is available online and an app.

I have 2 packs of  Milkyway Remy Human Hair Weave Pure Yaky Ombre Two Tone installed for this quick weave. I have it in the color OTEMERALD, and I purchased lengths 10 and 12 inches. You can click here to purchase it where I did. Its very affordable and the hair is holding up great so far.

I am loving this hairstyle so far! It’s so me, and I’m glad that I switched it up and tried something new. I will definitely be going back to crochet braids, but I’m going to experiment with this hair for awhile. I do plan on doing a styling and maintenance video for this hair, so stay tuned for that.
More Pics!

Burgundy Hair Reveal

Happy Monday Darling Divas!!

If you follow me on my social media then you have already seen my gorgeous new hairstyle! Yes ladies I switched up my hair yet again, and this time I decided to play with my length. This is still yet another crochet style, and I am so pleased with how it came out! This video just gives you the details on this hairstyle, and I swear I am having sooo much fun experimenting with this crochet hairstyle! So enjoy this short video and meet me below for more details and pics!

Did you enjoy the video?? I really hope so! I have really been enjoying switching up my look so often! If you have checked out my Hair growth plan video that I made a couple of weeks ago I said that I would be switching up my look often so that I wouldn’t suffer from product buildup and breakage. When I protective style I have a habit of not taking care of my hair. So by taking my hair down each month, I don’t suffer from the bad habits of protective styling that I usually have to face! If you want some tips on protective styling then check out my blogpost/video about it here. And if you want to check out my hair growth plan blogpost/video then click here.

In the video I said that this hair is the same hair that I used in my very first crochet hairstyle which is pictured below. It is just in different color.

I used 3 packs of the Jamaican Twist Braid Marley Hair from the brand Equal. The Color I used was a 530. It was 4.99 from my local beauty supply store. I cut the 3 packs in half at the rubber band, and rolled  the hair on orange and purple cold rods to achieve the curls. I wanted to go for a short hairstyle this time around since I always do long crochet braids and guys I think I am in love! I think I may be rocking it short for awhile!

So ladies what do you think of my new style? I am IN LOVE!! It is soo perfect for the fall! The curls have already dropped and I cant wait to see this style transform over the next couple of weeks.

So ladies thank you soo much for watching! Be sure to follow me on my social media! They are all linked above. Be sure to come back tomorrow for another blog post! I am trying to post for you guys Mondays & Tuesdays at 5PM! Let’s cross our fingers and hope I can stick to that! So until tomorrow love you lots like tator tots!
