Color Commentary: The Primary Lookbook

Happy Friday All My Darling Diva;s

The 2017 October series The Power of Color started on Wednesday, and I am so excited that you guys are able to see the outfits that I have been working on! If you haven’t checked it out click here! Today’s blog post may not make sense if you haven’t seen it. In past series, I usually would follow up with a behind the scenes video, but this year I decided to switch it up. Every Friday after a Lookbook drops on Wednesday I am going to be coming at you with a Color Commentary. In this video, we will break down what you saw in the Wednesday lookbook, and how to swap out pieces to make the looks more wearable if you not about that color life. So let’s get into the first Color Commentary!

I hope you guys enjoyed the first Color Commentary! I can’t wait for you to see the rest of the looks in this lookbook! We talked about swapping out pieces to make the outfits more wearable, so here is just recap of those tips!

Look 1
My favorite look of them all! If this casual and cute look doesn’t tickle your fancy, that’s ok! Ditch the turban and the heels, and rock your own hair and a pair of black boots. The red top can replace with a white tee, and you can rock a bold red lip instead.

Look 2
I think this look will be perfect for making a statement at work, but I totally understand if your style or your work code is more traditional. Just swap out the top for a white button down and a blazer, and a pair of pumps to create a business casual look with a pop of print!

Look 3
I think that this look is honestly the most wearable of them all. I would totally rock this for a casual night out, but if the mesh inst your thing feel free to pair it with a black top instead. Keep the cheetah print vibe by styling it with a backpack, and it will complement the yellow pants so well. Rock the look with a pair of sneakers and a black jacket, and you have an edgy inspired look that is great for weekends!

So ladies that wraps up today’s first Color Commentary. Be sure to come back here every Wed this month for a new lookbook in The Power of Color series, and then a Color Commentary ever Fri! I always love to do my October series because it’s when I can get really creative and have fun! I hope you all have enjoyed the first week, and get geared up and ready for the next three! Also be sure to follow me on social media because the color fun will be continuing over there! I love you lots like tater tots, and I will see you next week!

The Power of Color: Primary

Hello, All My Darling Divas!

Happy October! If you have been apart of the NoMinusPlus family for a while, then you would know that every October I do a monthly series. I have done the seven deadly sins, an Icon series, and an element series so far. For this year’s series, I decided that I wanted to play with color, so I present to you all The Power of Color series: A 4 lookbook ode to the color wheel! This year I am doing things a little different. I will explain more, but there will basically be no video. Instead, you can get the looks right here on the blog! So every Wednesday a power of color video drops, and every Friday a story behind the color will drop where I explain each color combo of each lookbook. So shall we begin?

Primary Colors
Art. a color, as red, yellow, or blue, that in mixture yields other colors.
The first color combination that I ever got introduced to was Primary colors. They remind me of primary school, first time things, so I decided it should go first in this series! Can you believe that this is the first time that I realized how good Red, Yellow, and Blue look together!

Look1
Turban: Gifted
Earrings: ElinPapiForBabi
Tank top: Walmart
Jacket: DebShops
Jeans Marshalls
Shoes: Payless

What I love about primary colors is that they are vibrant and are the basic colors in the color wheel. Every color combo comes from primary colors, and I think that is so powerful. How amazing is it that so many color combos come from just three colors!
LOOK 2
 Jacket: Rainbow
Top: Burlington Coat Factory
Skirt: LulaRoe
What I also love about the Primary color palette is that it pairs so well with prints. In this lookbook, I have paired it with stripes, and animal print and both just go with the color combo effortlessly.
So I hope you all have enjoyed the first portion of The Power of Color series! Get ready for a month filled with color prints! Now you gotta be sure to come back every Friday as well for The Color Story: An explanation and a break down of every blog post you will see on Wednesdays. So you still get your Wed and Fri post, it’s just all themed around color! So I love you lots like tater tots, and I will see you on Friday!
