Blazers Galore

Happy Tuesday Darling Divas!

Welcome back to another day on the blog! Today’s blog post will be fashion related, and I am honestly excited about it. Fall is honestly my favorite season to dress for, and lately I have had an unhealthy obsession with Blazers! They are such a versatile piece of clothing to style, and you definitely need to run out and grab a couple if you don’t have one in your closet! This lookbook celebrates how many ways you can style a blazer. You can dress it up or dress it down, and look cute every single time! So lets get into the looks.

Fuchsia Frenzy
I recently took a trip to the goodwill with my best friend Asha, and as soon I entered the blazers section I fell in love! I saw this fuchsia blazer and I instantly knew I had to have it! I decided to dress this blazer up by adding a ruffled dress from Fashion to Figure with a high heel from Nine West that also has ruffles. I decided to bring in my waist by adding this black and silver detailed belt that was gifted to me. I decided to add some texture and fun by adding a checkered print purse that I got from Burlington Coat Factory.
Safari Goddess
This outfit is my favorite look in this lookbook! I saw this long African printed blazer from the goodwill and it had SHOULDER PADS! I love a good shoulder pad ladies. Sometimes I wish I was in my twenty’s in the 80’s so that I could have rocked this trend! (lol) I love anything printed, and when I saw this I definitely HAD to have it! With longer pieces like this blazer I like to pair it with something short to play with the length of my outfit. I paired this look with a black crop top from Eloquii, a black skater skirt from Deb Shops and black booties from Just Fab. I felt like this outfit needed a touch of something so I added a this gold cheetah belt from Burlington Coat Factory.

Black on Black
Now this is one of my go to outfits. I absolutely love dressing down blazer with some simple pieces. By adding these black leggings from Eloquii, a crop top from Zelie for She, and a some red sneakers from Target I have transformed a Black tuxedo type blazer into a casual outfit. I love outfits like this because simple pieces come together to make a comfortable cute outfit.
Polka Dot Blues
This outfit its just so adorable to me! This blue blazer from Burlington Coat Factory is typically a pretty dressy blazer. But by adding this fun polka dot printed skirt from Fashion to Figure, and  this black turtleneck that was thrifted, this blazer turns from the office to a night out on the town. These booties from Ashley Stewart and this linked silver belt that was gifted pulls in this look and gives it a nice touch.
Forever a Cheetah Girl
Cheetah print will forever be my favorite everything! I grabbed this cheetah print blazer from the Goodwill I instantly was obsessed! What I loved about this blazer is that it is cropped, and I love a good cropped jacket. I decided to pair this jacket with some basic essentials. A green basic tee from Forever21, jeans from fashion to figure, and knee high boots from Deb Shops, this cropped cheetah print jacket instantly becomes a comfortable casual outfit.

2 Shades of Grey
This outfit is perfect for a fashionista like me. It mixes comfort with fashion and I absolutely love it. I like to wear outifts like this to work since I am on my feet all day, but still need to look professional and cute. This grey blazer from Target is super comfortable! Its made out of cotton, and it is one of my favorite pieces to wear right now. This white top is from Torrid, the printed pants are from Old Navy, and the flats are from Payless. I love a good outfit that is also comfortable.
So ladies that’s it for today’s blogpost! I hope you enjoyed this lookbook as much as I enjoyed creating it! Blazers are my obsession this fall, and I hope that after you look at this lookbook you will be inspired to be obsessed with them too!  Feel free to follow me on my social media. Denim Problems

Hello All My Darling Divas!!

Welcome back to the blog! The Springtacular series is now over, and we are back to our regular scheduled programing! If you want to check out the series click here. I decided to come back with this little guide on buying denim. Alot of people, especially us curvy women, have trouble buying denim. Either they fit at the waist but not at the bottom, or they don’t fit at all. So I decided to give you some tips that I use when I purchase denim. Afterall they are the most common article of clothing in my wardrobe! I only wear denim like 120% of the time, so I am pretty much a pro at buying jeans! So enjoy the video, and meet me below for more details!

I hope you enjoyed the video! Hopefully it was very helpful! Now lets get into the details!

1. Try On
I know it sounds silly but TRY ON YOUR JEANS!!! Alot of people skip the fitting room because maybe the line is too long, or maybe you just don’t feel like trying on. No matter how long the line is, or how you feel TRY ON THE JEANS! You will be really upset when you get home and find out that the jeans you just grabbed don’t fit! I advice taking 3 pairs of the same type of jeans. So I will take one pair of jeans and try on a size 18, 20, and 22 in them. This will save the hassle of having to go back in forth from the dressing room just in case a pair doesn’t fit.
2. Pay Attention to the Tag
Some stores that carry denim have letters beside the size. The letters may indicate that this type of jean is Tall, Petite, Regular, or Wide. I would say to def pay attention to the label, and if the tag has any of these letters to purchase the one that applies to you. Since I am tall I like to purchase jeans that have a T next to them. This ensures that the length of the jeans caters to my long legs. I also like to look for jeans that may have a W next to them because my hips are wide and those cater to my hips. If they don’t have a letter next to them don’t worry! Just refer to tip 1 and try them on!
3. Don’t be afraid to splurge
Alot of jeans tend to be pricey, but don’t let the price tag keep you away from purchasing a good pair of jeans! Buying jeans that may be $60 or above is a good idea because this means that they will last you a long time! They wont wear and tear as easily, and you definitely will get alot of wear out of your jeans!

4. Forever21
Ok so maybe you don’t have $60 to pay for an amazing pair of jeans. Well Forever21 is the perfect place for a good pair on inexpensive jeans! The jeans are mostly under or a little over $20, and they come in all different kinds of colors and prints. I would say to def check over there if your a little short on cash, but still want to look fabulous.
Here’s a list of places where you can purchase jeans. I personally buy all my jeans from thease stores, so I hope this help you!
Ladies I hope that this helped you! Let me know how if any of these tips and tricks work out for you! I will see you guys later this week with another video! So until then ladies, love ya lots like tator tots, and see you soon!

Top 10 Fashion Essentials for Summer

Hello All My Darling Divas!

Welcome back to another week on the blog! Today were going to be talking about my Top 10 Fashion Essentials. Since it is now towards the end of summer, I figured it was time to finally put up all the essentials that I have been using all summer. I have also done a Top 10 SkinCare and Makeup Tutorial which you can click here to see, and a couple of years ago I did a Top 10 Natural Hair Essentials. You can check that out here. I will probably revisit these top 10 list in the colder months sincee my essentials change up due to the weather change.  So enjoy the video and meet me below for more details and pics of course!

Did you enjoy the video? Comment below and let me know what some of your fave summer fashion essentials are. Here are pics and details of the items listed in this video.
1. A Dress
I loveee  dresses in the summer! They provide comfort and keep me cool on summer days. The dress in wearing here is a high-low dress from Umgee. Click here for my video on this dress and others from Umgee for more details.
2. Light Weight Hoodie
Hoodies are not just for the colder months. They are perfect to pull out on those cool summer evenings. I got this light hoodie from Target. I absolutely love the neon color!
3. Sunglasses
Of course no summer day is complete without a pair of cool shades to block out the sun! I grabbed these babies on sale from Icings! Click here for the haul video that I mentioned these in for more details.
4. Decorated Shorts
Now you know I had to slide my decorated shorts in this list! I have been rocking these pairs of shorts all summer. Whats even more awesome is that these are shorts from my own store! Click here to visit my website StyledByNoMinusPlus! Grab yourself a pair while the weather is still hot.
5. Canvas Sneakers
Now im usually not a fan of sneakers, but my canvas sneakers have been a definite staple this summer for me! It pairs perfect with any outfit, I can slip them on and go, and they are just really cute! I purchased mine at Target.
6. Sandals
Sandals of course have to be on this list. What summer outfit isn’t complete without a cute pair of sandals? Sandals and sneakers were pretty much the only things I wore this summer. I purchased these sandals from payless.
7. Vest

To me the vest is the perfect thing to layer outfits with in the summer. I wear all types of vest in the summer, but my denim vest definitely is my favorite. I got my vest from forever21.
8. Scarf
I would have to say that turbans are my go to hairstyle. Whenever I am being lazy, or my hair doesn’t want to behave, I slap this turban right on. The summer has very harsh sunrays which can be pretty damaging to my hair. The turban is perfect for hot days and protects my hair from the sun. Click here for my video on how I tie my turbans.
 9. Arm Candy
I overload on the arm candy when its hot out. I like layering and stacking my bracelets to create a fashionable look. Its almost as if I’m styling my wrist. My bracelets come from Torrid, Fashion2Figure, and Ashley Stewart. All of those stores carry bracelets that cater to a woman with larger wrist like myself.
10. Oversized Bag

A big bag is sooo needed in the summer! I carry around so much stuff(crap) with me when its really hot. A big bag ensures that all of my things can be carried in one fashionable place. I got this purse as a gift, but you can find over-sized bags pretty much everywhere!

Ladies that’s a wrap for today’s video! I had soo much fun recording this for you all, so I hope you really enjoyed it! Make sure to check back here on Friday for the second blog post for this week. It will be a very special one! Be sure to follow me on any of my social networking sites. They are all linked above. Until next time, love ya lots like tator tots!

A Closer Look at Wet Seal Plus

Hello All My Darling Divas!

Today on the blog I’m going to be doing something a lil bit different. This past Saturday me and my good friend Natasha went to go check out the new Wet Seal Plus STORE over at my local mall. That’s right ladies, wet seal plus now has it’s own store! I got word from my Aunt that this was happening and I just had to rush out to go see it for myself.

Arden B is going out of business and all  of the Arden B’s are now being replaced with a Wet Seal Plus Store. They are only in select places so click here to search for one in your area. Don’t worry Wet Seal Plus is still being sold in Wet Seal Stores if you cant find a Wet Seal Plus Store in your area. The site is also having a sale! So can get many items on sale for a limited time only. You can also get 15% if you Text WSPLUS to 35750. That Text works for in store AND online

The Arden B sign was still on the outside, so you can only imagine how disappointed I was walking towards the store. But soon as I went in I was greeted with “Hello welcome to Wet Seal” and I just knew I was in the right place. The manger was kind enough to let me take pictures of the store so that you all can see how fabulous this store is!

Now me and Natasha both picked out a couple of must have items from the Wet Seal Collection. We both will give out honest opinion on them. All the items are linked so that you can check out the price on the site. See how much I love you guys! I even dragged in my friend for all my madness.

My Picks
I took one look at this dress and I instantly fell in love! I loved the color, the cut, and the bow design in the back. If your tall like me it may be a bit short. Other than that I loved this dress! It also comes in different colors if this color doesn’t suit you.
Ok so I may have a soft spot for skater dresses because this one caught my eye just as much as the first one. I loved the way this dress fit on my body! It is super comfortable and can see myself styling this in so many way. The back detailing of this dress also is just amazing as the one above. I def see this making it’s way to my closet.
THESE JEGGINGS ARE EVERYTHING!! Ok so I never really liked the jegging trend. I just thought it was plain silly. But these baby’s def changed my mind. They were sooo comfortable and yes honey they do give you a better butt! I am soo in love with these pants.
As a lover of denim I almost squealed when I saw the great selection of jeans that they had. I am a sucker for bleached and distressed jeans, and these pair just sent me right to heaven! They are a really good fit and run true to size. I am super impressed with there denim. This may be my go to place for all my jeans. (Sorry Forever21!)
Now this
right here are a pair of jeans that we BOTH loved. I am pictured on the left, and Natasha is pictured on the right. We both had to try these jeans on, and they fit like a glove! I really am loving the Wet Seal Plus Jean collection. Make sure you def pick up a pair!
Natasha’s Pics and Opinions
I had a really good experience shopping at the new WetSeal plus at Menlo Park Mall.
From the outside, you would have no idea about the amazing stuff inside because it’s still labeled as Arden B (yes, on the directory too!). The sign that does say the correct name is a small sign on the side window BELOW eye level, not impressive.
Once I stepped in, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was attentive and helpful when needed. The location also looks a little classier than some of the other,  straight size WetSeal stores.  The clothes were trendy but there were a few pieces I would consider classics.
The tops were varying in comfort, functionality and style.  Of the few I tried on, I did enjoy their way of laying on my body just right. I also really liked, and purchased crotchet shorts that are too cute!

The jeans fit AMAZINGLY well. I am about average height and I didn’t have the super long crotch thing I get sometimes with other plus size denim options.

My only complaint is that some of the flowy options did not have enough fabric weight to hang in a way that was as flattering as I wanted
There were a wide variety of accessories to choose from as well as  a few sneakers and sandals. Some are true to size and others are not. Be warned, The accessories and shoes are NOT plus size friendly.
I look forward to shopping there again and excited for the hopefully expanding line. *hint, hint*
Well ladies that is all! I hope you have enjoyed my opinions and my good friend Natasha’s Opinions on Wet Seal Plus. Now I just want to say that I wasn’t asked to this. This was all on my own and the opinions are real and true. We both really enjoyed the Wet Seal Plus Collection, and I def encourage you all to go try it out yourselves. I swear you wont be disappointed.
Feel free to follow Natasha on Twitter  @yung_FAB_free  and follow her on her Tumblr right here.
