Hairstyle Battle: Me Vs The Silk Wrap

Hello All My Darling Divas!
Welcome back to another exciting installment of the HairStyle Battle Series! Today it’s a battle of me against The Silk Wrap. Now the silk wrap is definitely a throwback hairstyle. So what better day to post it then Throwback Thursday! I remember years ago watching tons of my fave natural hair divas try out this hairstyle. I figured it was about time fore me to test my hair against the silk wrap, so now it’s time to see who will win: Me or the silk wrap? So watch the video and meet me below for deets!

Did you enjoy the video? I hope you liked it!  This is the SECOND time that I have lost a hairstyle battle! These hairstyles are definitely kicking my butt! But it’s ok! I will be sure to win next time! Now lets get to the details!

Here are the two videos I watched to learn how to do this style. There were TONS of tutorials, so it was def hard to narrow it down to just two.

The first was this tutorial by Classcie. She was very informative and her hair is AMAZING!
And this is defintly a throwback video from Mahagony Curls. I have always loved her videos, and her hair is also Hair Crush worthy!
As far as the products used in this video I used all the products from my April Curlbox, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. They just didn’t leave my hair feeling exactly amazing. I hate to talk bad about any company’s products, but I also have to stay true to how I feel and keep it 100 with you all. So if you want to check out my April Curlbox click here. That will have more details on the organix products.
Products Used.
Organix B5 Shampoo and Conditioner
Organix Weightless Oil Mix
Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum
Tressume Heat Tamer Spray
Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter
Lotta Body Setting Lotion
So here is the finished product of my hair and the silk wrap. It isn’t exactly smooth and moisturized, but after this video I added some of my Shea Butter Mixture and wrapped my hair. When I woke up my hair was very manageable and soft.
So ladies I hope you enjoyed this installment of The Hairstyle Battle! Be sure to come right back here tomorrow for another blogpost! So until then, love ya lots like tator tots! And see you soon!

Hairstyle Battle Me VS Finger Coils

Hello All My Darling Divas!,
Welcome back to the blog! It’s been all about hair this week and I couldn’t be more excited! So earlier this week I came to you with my first CurlBox Unboxing! If you want to check it out click here! February’s curlbox came with alot of wonderful products this month, and I had to of course figure out a way to incorporate the products in the box. I decided what better way to use the products then to do a Hairstyle Battle video! Now I have always wanted to try finger coils, and now that I had some amazing products to try I figured now was the perfect time to test it out! So enjoy the video, and meet me below to see who won: Me or the Finger Coils!

So I think it’s pretty safe to say that this hairstyle battle was a TIE! I won because the style did look great and stayed in place. The Hairstyle also won because I ended up not liking how it looked on me. You guys be the judge. Who do you think won? Me or the hairstyle? Leave your comments below! Now lets get into more info and of course pictures!

The two videos that help me achieve my finger coils feel free to use both of the  full out tutorials to show you how to achieve finger coils.
Charyjays Tutorial on Finger Coils- Chile I loveeee a Charyjay Tutorial! Always very informative and simple to follow. I chose her because we have a similar texture, and she showed two different methods of products to use to achieve this style.
Jouelzy’s Tutorial on Finger Coils- Jouelzy is my go to guru for 4C Hair! What attracted me to her tutorial was because we have similar length and texture.

For this video I used 4 out of the 6 products that came with my CurlBox. For a more detailed description of the products featured, click here for my Curlbox Unboxing Video.

Ok So I started off with super dry hair that was tangled and lacked moisture. I used the Cantu Shea Butter Coil Calm Detangler. It left my hair feeling super soft and manageable. I will definitely be using this again!

Then after that it was time to condition and I decided to grab the Carol’s Daughter Mirabelle Plum Conditioner. It put shape back into my curls, and kept my hair feeling and smelling great!
After that I let it dry using the Dove Quench Absolute Cream Serum as a leave in. I showed how soft my hair was in the video. I showed you that I used the  Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Paste and it really held the finger coils! I loved the curl control paste! I was really pleased that it held my curls
So since I didn’t really dig the finger coils, so I decided to take them out and rock a finger coil out and I loved it! The Control Paste really defined my curls and I have been rocking this super defined coil out for the past 3 days!
So ladies that’s all! Maybe I will revisit finger coils once my hair gets longer! If you try it out let me know! All my links to my social media are linked above. I hope you have enjoyed the second video in the Hairstyle Battle Series! I am having sooo much fun testing out new hairstyles, and I wonder what I will come up with next. If you want to see me try out any hairstyle just comment below and let me know! So until next week ladies, love ya lots like tator tots!

Straight&Stylept2 Finally!

Hello All My Darling Divas!

I’m back with a video!( FINALLY!) I know it’s been a couple of weeks since I made a video. School always is a killer but the semester is finally over, so that means more time for blogging and video making! Yay! So to kick-start my video mania, I decided to first finish off my Straight&Style series since I have quite a habit of starting things up and never finishing them. So feel free to check out part1 here. Once your done refreshing your memory with part 1, watch part 2 below and meet me under that for more deets and pics!

Watch Part 2

Now just like in part 1 I will list the JCS products that I used in this video, provide you with the description of each product, and tell you what I think.
Curl Defining Cream
Great for defining your curls, reduces curl shrinkage and frizz, adds shine and dries soft
This product I ran out of so quick because it is that AWESOME! It left my hair feeling really soft and manageable, and I would definitely consider making it a staple in my regimen.
Nourish & Shine
100% natural shea butter based, great to nourish, seals your cuticle and adds great shine, great for daily use on your hair and skin.
This stuff right here is everything! It definitely knocks my shea butter mixture out the way. It has an awesome smell to it, and it kept my hair feeling great. It is great duo when combined with the Curl defining cream, and I think that’s definitely why I had such success with my flat-twist out
Wrap&Roll
Great for twist outs, seals the cuticle and adds moisture, dries clean and shiny
This product is def a hit for me because I always use a setting lotion for my twist. What I love about this product is that it’s light-weight and doesn’t leave a crunchy feel to my curls.
So judgement for ALL of the JCS products that I have sampled are that its a GREAT product line! It is Type 4 Hair friendly and I really enjoyed using these products. I ran out of so much of it because I used it soo much! I can see myself buying the full sizes of these products in the future. Do yourself a favor and go to your local target and pick up this sample kit to try it out for yourself. I swear you wont regret it! Check out the Jane Carter Solution website here for more info on any of the products listed.
So here are some pics of the hairstyle, let me know if you try it yourself! Feel free to follow me on any/all of my social networking sites! The links are above. Until next time ladies, love ya lots like tator tots!XOXO

Straight&StylePt1

                                                                                 Hello all my Darling Divas!

So I have always wanted to get my hands on some Jane Carter Solution Products. I have heard wonderful things, but they can be a bit pricey. My dream finally came true when I came across a kit from target containing sample sizes of the products! It was only 20 bucks!!! I quickly purchased them and was too excited to try them out!

Watch the video here for more info and meet below for more deets!

Now as stated in the video, this is the first part of a 2 part hair tutorial. Today you are getting the straight, and next week you are getting the style. Below I will provide you with the info(as stated on the package) of each JCS(Jane Carter Solution) product that was used, and then I will tell you what I thought of it.
Hydrating Invigorating Shampoo
Sulfate free, gentle cleansing and detangling with a peppermint tingle

. Now this stuff right here really clarified my hair. I think I used a bit too much of this product, so next time I will use less. It kept my hair feeling VERY clean! I dont remember feeling a tingling sensation, but I am more impressed with how clean it made my hair feel. A lil goes a long way with this product ladies!
Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner
Detangles,Repairs adds shine and moisture. Also great as a light leave in.
This stuff rocks! It left my hair feeling really soft after 20 mins. It made my hair more manageable as I went forward with adding heat. The directions on the back of the bottle said to sit under a hooded dryer with this product, so I will consider doing that next time. I think it works perfectly fine without it.
Revitalizing Leave In Conditioner
Great for re-hydrating daily, detangles, heat protects, and adds moisture.
I LOVE the fact that this is a mist! It was easy to distribute the product evenly to my hair! It was light-weight and i think definitely helped my hair feel super soft after I flat-ironed.
So ladies my final verdict on the products so far is a THUMBS UP! I would definitely consider buying all three as full size products. If your interested in purchasing any Jane Carter Solution Products, feel free to visit the website.  There you will find more products and even salons! I might go pay a visit there sometime.
Well that’s it ladies! I hope you enjoyed! Feel free to follow me on any of my social networking sites. The links are above. More pics are below and make sure you stay tuned for next week where I will be showing you a style to do with your straightened hair! Until next time, love ya lots like tator tots!

Confessions of a Indecisive Natural

Hello my Darling Divas!

So I have a very silly Hair Story to tell you and it is basically an update to what I’ve been doing to my hair since we last spoke a couple of months ago. I didn’t blog all spring and mostly summer, so this is kinda what has been happening since then! Bear with me ladies, this story is truly a hot mess! But yall still love me! I know yall all have been when I was!
Caution: The following events ALL took place in 2013, you have been warned!!
So yall remember last October I introduced the healthy hair challenge and made a video explaining all the problems I hate with my hair? This is where all the chaos began.. click on this this link for that video. So basically I had sooo much wrong with my hair and that was due to the fact that I was dying it too often and using LOTS and LOTS of heat! So I created this challenge, and despite me not finishing this challenge, it did bring me alot of insight on how to take care of my hair properly. It unfortunately also got me going though a constant need to change my hair up since I had no clue what was wrong with it.
My hair back in October 2012
Ok so towards the beginning of May 2012, I was convinced that I didn’t want to be blonde anymore, I blamed alllll my hair problems on be deciding to go blonde, and from that point on I began growing my hair back to my original hair color.

Now I was starting to dig this ombre look, but I couldnt help but wonder how my hair would look if I went all the way back to dark brown hair. As you can tell I’m all up for change sooooo, I decided to tryout a look to conceal and help grow out the rest of my blonde. So I went to youtube and with the help of some lovely ladies, the Faux Bun Remix was born.
And if you were wondering damn did you change your hair again? yea I sure did lol It was the begining of summer, and I woke up one day and said Im cutting my hair. A box of brown dye and 2hours later… this happened.
Now I loved my hair like this!!! But I totally forgot that summer heat+ flat ioning didn’t last long, sooo this style only lasted for about 2 weeks before I said ehhhhhhh I need something new AGAIN lol soooo this light brown made me think you know Brie you just love your blonde so go back. AND SO this is the very long annyoing story of how this undecive natural went from blonde to black to blonde again within a year. Have any of yall felt like this? Just not being to commit 2 one hairstyle? Im writhing this post as we speak thinking about getting some Havana Twist and I just dyed it back to icy blonde.
So have yall ladies ever been through this crisis? I find that since having natural hair is sooo versatile, it becomes almost obsesive to want to switch up you look! Now Ive shared my crazy hair story, whats yours? Share you story along with photos on the Facebook Fan Page, or on twitter or instagram using the Hashtag #Nominusplus. Togther we can all put ourselves in You change your hair too damn much rehab! Hope you ladies enjoyed!! Until next time, love ya lots like tator tots!! XOXOXO

I’ve been gon for a minute now I’m back with the jump-off!!! ( who knows what song that is?) lol hello my beautiful divas!  So the last time we spoke, I did a tutorial on how I created this Faux Bun on my Natural Hair ( Click Here For This Tutorial

Now this look is all good and what not but I searched the web on how I could make my bun even more fabulous and decided to try my hand a faux hair bun out of African-braiding hair that I saw sweeping the youtube natural hair channels! Now even though there are a billion tutorials on this, I figured eh one more tutorial on this look wont hurt! So enjoy the tutorial and meet me under it for more details and pics for the video!

A quick lil walk-through on how I create the African-Braiding Hair Attachments
And of course the good part pics!!! The bottom three pics are a more close up of the sides and the style of the look. And the middle just show you the look in a different color! For those who would be wondering what it would like in a color other than black.
