How to Transition Your Wardrobe from Winter to Spring

Hello All My Darling Divas!

If you’re subscribed to the new mailing list then you already know that right now I am having a bit of difficulty with my studio that I record in, so that’s why it’s been a couple of weeks since there has been a new post. I luckily had this pre-recorded video in my possession, so here it goes! Today I am going to share 4 tips on how you can transition your wardrobe from Winter to Spring. So enjoy the video, and meet me below for some more info!

I hope you enjoyed today’s video! I am still having some problems with my studio, so I am going to experiment with some IGtv videos that way I am still providing some content. Be sure you’re following me on IG so that you can see the video go live. You can also keep updated with the blog right from your inbox by joining the new mailing list. Click here to subscribe! New updates go out every Friday.

The 4 tips mentioned in this video

Tip 1: : Ditch the heavy coat. Keep out the lighter jackets

This is a look from my Style Swap Classic Video. Click here to check it out.

During springtime you still need a coat, so ditch the heavy coat and swap it with a lighter one. My favorite is this Jackie Car Coat that I got from The Girl With Curves X Dia&Co collection. Click here, here, and here to check out some more of my coat suggestions.

Tip 2: Pack up the heavy sweaters. Keep out the lighter ones

This the look from my Nov Fashion Faves Video. Click here to check it out.

Tank top time is near, but it’s not here quite yet, so you can still get away with some light sweaters. I love this top, but a comfy crewneck will also do the trick. Click here, here, and here to check out more of my favorite light sweaters.

Tip 3 :Don’t pack up your boots yet!

This look is from my Brand Spotlight: Loft Lookbook. Click here to check out that video.

If you’re like me then you have been WAITING to ditch the boots and rock some sandals, but don’t pack those boots up quite yet! They can still be rocked with dresses and skirts for Spring! Click here to check out Smash Shoes. I have been OBSESSING over there boots lately!

Smash Shoes is perfect for my ladies with a wider and/or larger foot!

Tip 4: Mix your darker colors with your lighter ones

This look is from my Complimentary Color Series Lookbook. Click here to check out this video

Don’t be afraid to mix some of your darker Winter colors with your lighter colors for Spring! It’s a great way to get creative with your looks! Below I have provided you with a color chart to see what new color combos you can create! To the left is a Winter palette, and to the right is a Spring one.

The Power of Color: Complementary

Hello, All My Darling Divas!

We have finally reached the last lookbook of The Power of Color series, and I am actually very sad to see it go. I had such a fantastic time showing you all my color combos, and I hope that you all were as inspired as I was. The last Color combo we are going to talk about is complementary colors which are honestly the first color combo I learned about back in college. It’s a great way to end off the series, and I hope you will love it just as much as the first three lookbook which you can click here, here, and here to check out! Let’s jump in!

Complementary

Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel

In my world no look is complete unless you have a little cheetah in it! This beautiful pair of animal print booties from Just Fab pairs perfectly with this orange and blue combo! This look is so simple, but packs a colorful punch that I think any Diva will enjoy!
Look 1
Color Combo ( Orange and Blue)
Sweater: Target
Orange Dress: Fashion to Figure
Booties: JustFab

I was definitly chanelling my inner Belle from Beaty and the Beast with this look! ( lol)  I just wanted something really extra and of course something that showcased the color combo! This skirt should look familiar because it’s my favorite one from Eloquii! They really have some of the best A-line skirts, and come in so many different colors! Brielle and the Beast came out to play today hunny!

 Look 2
Color Combo( Red and Green)
Top: A Dress from Dia&Co
Skirt: Eloquii via Dia&Co

I got this vibrant yellow blazer this past weekend at a thrift store, and I was SO EXCITED that I was able to use it in the last lookbook. It goes so well with these super hot heels from Ashley Stewart, and im not gonna lie I felt so fierce! It’s something about jeans and heels that make me feel
like a vixen. Is that just me?

Look 3
Color Combo ( Yellow and Purple)
Top: Rainbow Shops
Blazer: Thrifted
Jeans: Celebrity Pink Via Dia&Co
Shoes: Ashley Stewart

So that wraps up the last lookbook in The Power of Color series! I had such a blast having this color party with you all, and I hope you all loved it as much as I enjoyed creating it. We have one more color commentary coming up on Friday, and then we are all wrapped up and done with the series! Be sure to follow me on social media because I have also been having a color party on my IG! You can check it out by clicking the links above! I love you lots like tater tots, and I will see you on Friday!

Color Commentary: The Primary Lookbook

Happy Friday All My Darling Diva;s

The 2017 October series The Power of Color started on Wednesday, and I am so excited that you guys are able to see the outfits that I have been working on! If you haven’t checked it out click here! Today’s blog post may not make sense if you haven’t seen it. In past series, I usually would follow up with a behind the scenes video, but this year I decided to switch it up. Every Friday after a Lookbook drops on Wednesday I am going to be coming at you with a Color Commentary. In this video, we will break down what you saw in the Wednesday lookbook, and how to swap out pieces to make the looks more wearable if you not about that color life. So let’s get into the first Color Commentary!

I hope you guys enjoyed the first Color Commentary! I can’t wait for you to see the rest of the looks in this lookbook! We talked about swapping out pieces to make the outfits more wearable, so here is just recap of those tips!

Look 1
My favorite look of them all! If this casual and cute look doesn’t tickle your fancy, that’s ok! Ditch the turban and the heels, and rock your own hair and a pair of black boots. The red top can replace with a white tee, and you can rock a bold red lip instead.

Look 2
I think this look will be perfect for making a statement at work, but I totally understand if your style or your work code is more traditional. Just swap out the top for a white button down and a blazer, and a pair of pumps to create a business casual look with a pop of print!

Look 3
I think that this look is honestly the most wearable of them all. I would totally rock this for a casual night out, but if the mesh inst your thing feel free to pair it with a black top instead. Keep the cheetah print vibe by styling it with a backpack, and it will complement the yellow pants so well. Rock the look with a pair of sneakers and a black jacket, and you have an edgy inspired look that is great for weekends!

So ladies that wraps up today’s first Color Commentary. Be sure to come back here every Wed this month for a new lookbook in The Power of Color series, and then a Color Commentary ever Fri! I always love to do my October series because it’s when I can get really creative and have fun! I hope you all have enjoyed the first week, and get geared up and ready for the next three! Also be sure to follow me on social media because the color fun will be continuing over there! I love you lots like tater tots, and I will see you next week!

The Power of Color: Primary

Hello, All My Darling Divas!

Happy October! If you have been apart of the NoMinusPlus family for a while, then you would know that every October I do a monthly series. I have done the seven deadly sins, an Icon series, and an element series so far. For this year’s series, I decided that I wanted to play with color, so I present to you all The Power of Color series: A 4 lookbook ode to the color wheel! This year I am doing things a little different. I will explain more, but there will basically be no video. Instead, you can get the looks right here on the blog! So every Wednesday a power of color video drops, and every Friday a story behind the color will drop where I explain each color combo of each lookbook. So shall we begin?

Primary Colors
Art. a color, as red, yellow, or blue, that in mixture yields other colors.
The first color combination that I ever got introduced to was Primary colors. They remind me of primary school, first time things, so I decided it should go first in this series! Can you believe that this is the first time that I realized how good Red, Yellow, and Blue look together!

Look1
Turban: Gifted
Earrings: ElinPapiForBabi
Tank top: Walmart
Jacket: DebShops
Jeans Marshalls
Shoes: Payless

What I love about primary colors is that they are vibrant and are the basic colors in the color wheel. Every color combo comes from primary colors, and I think that is so powerful. How amazing is it that so many color combos come from just three colors!
LOOK 2
 Jacket: Rainbow
Top: Burlington Coat Factory
Skirt: LulaRoe
What I also love about the Primary color palette is that it pairs so well with prints. In this lookbook, I have paired it with stripes, and animal print and both just go with the color combo effortlessly.
So I hope you all have enjoyed the first portion of The Power of Color series! Get ready for a month filled with color prints! Now you gotta be sure to come back every Friday as well for The Color Story: An explanation and a break down of every blog post you will see on Wednesdays. So you still get your Wed and Fri post, it’s just all themed around color! So I love you lots like tater tots, and I will see you on Friday!
