The Slayed Afro

Happy Saturday Darling Divas!!

Yes, I know that this isn’t a day that I usually post, BUT I meant to come up here yesterday, and that just didn’t happen. So I thought to myself why not put it up today? And obviously, here that post is. I have new hair!! I decided to go big with it this time around, and I am in love with it!!! So in today’s mini-blogpost I am just sharing my new hairdo, and I hope you all will enjoy! So sit back, what the video, and meet me below for more details!

Did you all enjoy? I hope so! I am definitely lovingggg my new look! Click here to cast your vote in the poll!  Being blonde is always fun for me, so I decided to take it back for a second. I dug into my archives and found some blonde pics of me. Oh, how I miss bleach sometimes.

So I wanted to get back to my blonde roots, but this time, no bleach was required! For this crochet install, I searched around for blonde hair that had dark roots because I wanted to look natural. I went to my beauty supply store and was lucky to find what I wanted!!

So this is the type of hair I used to achieve my look. The Durban Twist hair from Harlem125. I used three packs of RT27, and one pack of F1B/27. This is some big hair yall!!! So, for now, im rocking it as an afro, but I plan to put curls in soon.  This hair can do so many things, and is super soft! So click here to purchase online!  The website I linked is a longer length and comes in different colors. If you’re looking for the same hair as mine, I would look at your local beauty supply store, or do a further search online!

So, ladies, that’s it for today’s mini-blogpost! Be sure to come right back here next week for two new blogposts! ANNDDD a special announcement is dropping next Saturday so get ready!!! Feel free to follow me on my social media. They are all linked above!! I love you lots like tater tots, I hope you have a great weekend, and I will see you Monday!

October Curlbox Rundown & Product Review

Proganix Coconut H20 Quench Shampoo

First of all these products all smell so great! I started off with the Shampoo of course, and I didn’t really like it too much. I always have a problem with Organix’s shampoo’s because they make my hair feel really dry and stripped. So while my hair is clean, it feels really dry. I wouldn’t try this product again.
Proganix Coconut H2O Quench Conditioner
I followed with the conditioner after I shampooed. It added moisture back to my hair, so for a conditioner it did it’s job. I wouldn’t say I am head over heels over this conditioner, but it did its job. I wouldn’t try it again.
Proganix Coconut H2O Quench Leave-In Moisture Conditioner
leave-in moisture
I dried my hair using the T-shirt method, and then added this product. It gave my hair moisture, and I was definitely looking for that after I finished shampooing it. I am sucker for Leave-In-Conditioner, but I wouldn’t buy this product again.
Proganix Coconut H2O Quench Moisture Balm
moisture balm
I applied this product after I applied the leave-in moisture, and I have to say it made my hair feel super soft! I then went to put my hair in bantu knots, and when to sleep. When I took my bantu knots down in the morning, my hair was even softer then the day before! I really was relived because I was really worried about the moisture not being added back into my hair. I liked this product, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
Final Verdict: Overall I wasn’t too impressed with this collection of products. But I feel its because I not a fan of Organix products period. They never do anything great for my hair, but I just keep trying different lines of the products to see where I can fit in. I just think they personally are no good for my hair. One of my friends tried the products and LOVED THEM! So that just goes to show you that everything isn’t for everybody! I would say to try out the products for yourself, and see what you think!

My New Protective Style

Happy Memorial Day Darling Divas!!

I hope you are enjoying your Monday, and relaxing if you have the day off today! Today on the blog we are going to be talking about my new hair! I finally hopped on the Crochet Braids trend, and I have no idea why I didn’t do it sooner! This video is all the details on my hair so that if you were wondering anything like what kind of hair it is, or who did it you can just look to one video! I am having sooo much fun with this new do, and I cant wait to experiment with it further. So enjoy the video below and meet me under it for more details!

Did you enjoy the video? I hope that it was as informative and helpful as possible! If you have anymore questions about my hair comment them below or hit me up on any my social media. I will be sure to answer any questions that I see. I’m truly loving my hair, and I am having so much fun with it! I needed some change in my life and I think that hair is filling that space for me right now. I’m not gonna lie I was really nervous with getting my hair like this! It was something I never tried in a color that I haven’t had in F O R E V E R! But I went for it anyway and I’m so happy that I did! I definitely encourage you to try something new with your hair this summer! I promise you wont regret it

Who did my hair?
Now usually this would be a style that I would try to do on my own. But I was at a crunch for time and really didnt have any time at all to figure out how to do this style. So I remembered that my good friend Shirley said to me a couple of months ago that she does Crochet Braids. So I decided to finally call her up and Boom! Crochet Braids done!
Her number is (973) 389-4542. Ask for Shirley and tell her that Brielle sent you!
The Hair I used
I used 6 packs of the Jamaican Twist Braid Marley Hair from the brand Equal. The Color I used was a 1. It was 4.99 from my local beauty supply store, and should be around the same price if you buy it from your beauty supply store or online. You can goggle the brand of hair to see what websites sell them. They also come in a variety of colors, so if you looking for a specific type of color I would suggest ordering it online. You may only find natural colors like black, brown, and maybe red at your local beauty supply store.

So ladies that is all! I hope that this blogpost/video helped you! Feel free to follow me on any of my social media. They are all linked above. What is going to be your protective style this summer? Tell me below in the comment section! So until later on this week, love ya lots like tator tots, and see you soon!
