Color Commentary: Complementary Lookbook

Hello All My Darling Divas!

We have finally reached the last Color Commentary of The Power of Color series, and I am sad to see this series go! We have had such a fabulous color party, but as we know all good things must come to an end. Today we are doing the breakdown of the most recent and last lookbook which is Complementary. If you have missed any of The Power of Color series, no worries! Click below to catch up!

And now you can enjoy today’s video!

I hope you have enjoyed the last color commentary! This series was such a joy to create! Let’s recap!
 Look 1
This look was actually a dress and skirt layered to create one look, so I decided to give you tips on how to style both pieces! The burgundy top is actually a dress, and you can pair it with tall brown boots and a bucket back for a simple and beautiful look for work. If you want to still have a simple Christmas vibe with the Eloquii green skirt, you can pair it with a striped top, black pointed flats, and a red clutch to be ready for a holiday party in a flash!

 Look 2
This look right here just gives me so much life, and it’s all thanks to this fantastic lemon blazer!! This look is pretty wearable on its own, but if you want to switch it up, I would swap out the yellow blazer for a black one. This tones the look down a bit. Just add black boots, a purple back to color coordinate, and you’re ready for casual Friday!
Look 3
Woah! Curves are coming your way with this look! I love orange and blue so much, so it’s no secret that it’s my fave! I would just add a pair of tall caramel boots, a funky and fashionable cheetah beret, and gold accessories to create a high fashion look for the season!

So that concludes The Power of Color series! I hope you all had a wonderful time taking this color journey with me! Be sure to follow me on social media to see the rest of my colorful makeup looks! The links are all above, and I am working on each lookbook having its own board on Pinterest, so stay tuned! I am going to take a bit of a break to reset, so I love you lots like tater tots, and I will see you on Nov 8th with our regularly scheduled programming!

The Power of Color: Complementary

Hello, All My Darling Divas!

We have finally reached the last lookbook of The Power of Color series, and I am actually very sad to see it go. I had such a fantastic time showing you all my color combos, and I hope that you all were as inspired as I was. The last Color combo we are going to talk about is complementary colors which are honestly the first color combo I learned about back in college. It’s a great way to end off the series, and I hope you will love it just as much as the first three lookbook which you can click here, here, and here to check out! Let’s jump in!

Complementary

Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel

In my world no look is complete unless you have a little cheetah in it! This beautiful pair of animal print booties from Just Fab pairs perfectly with this orange and blue combo! This look is so simple, but packs a colorful punch that I think any Diva will enjoy!

I was definitly chanelling my inner Belle from Beaty and the Beast with this look! ( lol)  I just wanted something really extra and of course something that showcased the color combo! This skirt should look familiar because it’s my favorite one from Eloquii! They really have some of the best A-line skirts, and come in so many different colors! Brielle and the Beast came out to play today hunny!

I got this vibrant yellow blazer this past weekend at a thrift store, and I was SO EXCITED that I was able to use it in the last lookbook. It goes so well with these super hot heels from Ashley Stewart, and im not gonna lie I felt so fierce! It’s something about jeans and heels that make me feel
like a vixen. Is that just me?

What I love about this lookbook is the mixture of soft and hard. The beautiful colors pair perfectly up against the hard print of the graffiti!

This yellow and green color combo made me feel bold and confident! How amazing is it that colors can make you feel? As soon as I put this outfit together, I knew it was made for me. I double dare you to make a bold color choice next time you get dressed

At this point in time I was tired, hot, and looking for food, so please excuse the facial expression (lol), but floral must be a thing with the Tertiary color combo cause I just noticed that it’s in the lookbook twice! This look made me feel very girl next door with an edge!

The Power of Color: Primary

Hello, All My Darling Divas!

Happy October! If you have been apart of the NoMinusPlus family for a while, then you would know that every October I do a monthly series. I have done the seven deadly sins, an Icon series, and an element series so far. For this year’s series, I decided that I wanted to play with color, so I present to you all The Power of Color series: A 4 lookbook ode to the color wheel! This year I am doing things a little different. I will explain more, but there will basically be no video. Instead, you can get the looks right here on the blog! So every Wednesday a power of color video drops, and every Friday a story behind the color will drop where I explain each color combo of each lookbook. So shall we begin?

Primary Colors
Art. a color, as red, yellow, or blue, that in mixture yields other colors.
The first color combination that I ever got introduced to was Primary colors. They remind me of primary school, first time things, so I decided it should go first in this series! Can you believe that this is the first time that I realized how good Red, Yellow, and Blue look together!

Look1
Turban: Gifted
Earrings: ElinPapiForBabi
Tank top: Walmart
Jacket: DebShops
Jeans Marshalls
Shoes: Payless

What I love about primary colors is that they are vibrant and are the basic colors in the color wheel. Every color combo comes from primary colors, and I think that is so powerful. How amazing is it that so many color combos come from just three colors!
LOOK 2
 Jacket: Rainbow
Top: Burlington Coat Factory
Skirt: LulaRoe
What I also love about the Primary color palette is that it pairs so well with prints. In this lookbook, I have paired it with stripes, and animal print and both just go with the color combo effortlessly.
So I hope you all have enjoyed the first portion of The Power of Color series! Get ready for a month filled with color prints! Now you gotta be sure to come back every Friday as well for The Color Story: An explanation and a break down of every blog post you will see on Wednesdays. So you still get your Wed and Fri post, it’s just all themed around color! So I love you lots like tater tots, and I will see you on Friday!
