Playing In My Hair!

Hello All My Darling Divas!

Welcome back to another week here on the blog! The year is going by so quick! Can you believe it’s already March?? I can’t, but I am definitely glad that warmer weather is coming our way soon. Today on the blog we are going to talk all about natural hair! Now it’s been some time since I have styled my own hair, so today I decided to pull out some of my old tricks, and style my hair! Protective styling has been bae for awhile now, but it honestly felt good to style and rock my own hair. I plan to do it for a week because I am getting my hair done this Sunday! So while I wait to protective style, why not experiement? So enjoy the video, and meet me below for more details and info!

Did you enjoy the video? I swear it felt like a throwback moment styling my hair! It’s so exciting to see how much it has grown, and how healthy it’s becoming. Protective styling is really treating ya girl well! Now in this video I mention a couple of my Curlbox favorites. My curlbox experience was truly the best, and I was able to try out alot of amazing products with my subscriptions. You can check out any of my curlbox umboxings by searching through the blog archives which is located on the left side of the blogpost. All the products I used are from my past curboxes, so I will be sure to link the blogpost for each product which will have further information in them.

Co-Washing Product
My favorite deep conditioner ever at this moment is the Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex conditioner! It makes my hair feel super soft, and it honestly brings my hair back to life every time. You can click here for the curlbox unboxing for this video, and you can click here for the product review for this video
Moisture Products
These are two of my favorite styling  products! The dove advance serum makes my hair feel so soft, and I instantly fell in love. The Argan oil spray treatment is the perfect heat protectant, and the argan oil adds bonus moisture. This duo did wonders for my hair, and it made my hair feel super soft to the touch. You can click here for the unboxing for the dove products, and you can click here for my  One’n only’ argan oil product review.
Styling Products
These two styling products are awesome for my type 4 hair. The carol’s daughter’s hair mimosa not only smells good, but it makes my hair feel really moist, and keeps my scalp healthy.  The Argan oil style & shine foaming mousse is perfect for styling, and gave me some amazing ringlets.
Take down products
I have ranted and raved about the design essentials edge tamer product! It is honestly the only edge control that can tame these edges, and the one and only argan oil treatment helped moisturized and fluff my sections.

Black & Blue

Hello All My Darling Divas!

Welcome back to the blog! We are now back to our regular scheduled programming here on the blog, and were going to kick it off by talking about my new hair! I have yet another crochet braid installation, and yall know I have to give you guys all the details! You guys know my stylist Shirley hooked me up, and this time I wanted some long hair!  I was going to just do an all black style, but I needed a pop of color. You can never go wrong with blue in my book, so I grabbed a pack of blue hair, and this fabulous hairstyle was born!

For this style I used 5 packs of the Harlem 125 Brand of Kanekalon Braiding hair in the color 1 and 1 pack of the color Navy . To achieve the curls in this hair I used small perm rods, and followed this tutorial here. This is the same method and hair that I used for my last crochet braids. I just used a different color, and didn’t cut the packs in half.  I would recommend getting more hair then you need  just in case. I love this curl pattern sooo much! It’s a very tedious and long process, so be prepared!
Every night I put my hair in four bantu knots, and I just put a silk bonnet on my hair and go to sleep. I slick my edges down with the Design Essentials Natural Honey & Shea Edge Tamer that I received in my curl box a couple of months ago.
I am really loving crochet braids! It has been my go-to style all year, and there is no telling when I’m going to give it up! Here is just a quick view of all my crochet styles that I have done this year! They are such a fun and inexpensive way to switch up your hair!
So ladies that’s it for today’s blogpost! Be sure to meet me back here tomorrow for your second blogpost for this week! Feel free to follow me on social media! They are all linked above! I would love to be connected with you! Until tomorrow, love ya lots like tator tots!

The Blue Is Back

Hello All My Darling Divas!
Welcome back to another day on the blog. I am here today to briefly talk to you all about my blue hair! I was going to make a full out video, but I felt that a blogpost would do it better justice! As you ladies know I have been rocking crochet braids all summer, and I have been absolutely loving it!I have had this blue hair installed for almost 4 weeks now, and I’m soo glad that I chose to go for it. This blue hair was a bold choice, and I’m glad I went for it. I love switching up and playing with my look, and this blue hair is definitely doing that for me! So lets go into the details for this hair.

This was a Crochet hair experiment that me and my best friend Danielle decided to do. I saw the hair in my local beauty supply store, we were bored one random Tuesday, and this fabulous creation was born! I used 8 packs of   Janet Collection Kanekalon Braid Jumbo Braid in the Color Blue. You can find this brand in your typical beauty supply store, but it might be hard to find it in this color.

This hair is synthetic, and has given me no problems so far! I curled the hair in orange cold rods and dipped them in boiling hot water to achieve the curls.  I wear this particular crochet hairstyle in a ponytail or bun since its really hot outside, and I wear a headband around the edges to conceal the crochet knots. I really have been digging this style because of its color! This blue has been making me feel so fabulous!

So here are just some more pics of how I have been styling this hair! I plan to keep this hair in for maybe another two weeks, and then its on to my next crochet style! I already have my next hair color in mind and I am soo excited!  I cant wait to share it with you darling divas!
I have been rocking it in a Bun
And Rocking It Out ‘
And Of course in a fabulous ponytail!
Thank you ladies for catching up with me with this quick blogpost on my hair! I hope you all enjoy your weekends! Feel f
ree to follow me on any of my social media! They are all linked above! Summer is ending soon, and I am honestly sad about it! Summer 2015 has been soooo good to me, but I am honestly ready for the Fall! So until later this week ladies love ya lots like tator tots, and see you soon!

Hairstyle Battle: Me Vs The Silk Wrap

Hello All My Darling Divas!
Welcome back to another exciting installment of the HairStyle Battle Series! Today it’s a battle of me against The Silk Wrap. Now the silk wrap is definitely a throwback hairstyle. So what better day to post it then Throwback Thursday! I remember years ago watching tons of my fave natural hair divas try out this hairstyle. I figured it was about time fore me to test my hair against the silk wrap, so now it’s time to see who will win: Me or the silk wrap? So watch the video and meet me below for deets!

Did you enjoy the video? I hope you liked it!  This is the SECOND time that I have lost a hairstyle battle! These hairstyles are definitely kicking my butt! But it’s ok! I will be sure to win next time! Now lets get to the details!

Here are the two videos I watched to learn how to do this style. There were TONS of tutorials, so it was def hard to narrow it down to just two.

The first was this tutorial by Classcie. She was very informative and her hair is AMAZING!
And this is defintly a throwback video from Mahagony Curls. I have always loved her videos, and her hair is also Hair Crush worthy!
As far as the products used in this video I used all the products from my April Curlbox, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. They just didn’t leave my hair feeling exactly amazing. I hate to talk bad about any company’s products, but I also have to stay true to how I feel and keep it 100 with you all. So if you want to check out my April Curlbox click here. That will have more details on the organix products.
Products Used.
Organix B5 Shampoo and Conditioner
Organix Weightless Oil Mix
Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum
Tressume Heat Tamer Spray
Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter
Lotta Body Setting Lotion
So here is the finished product of my hair and the silk wrap. It isn’t exactly smooth and moisturized, but after this video I added some of my Shea Butter Mixture and wrapped my hair. When I woke up my hair was very manageable and soft.
So ladies I hope you enjoyed this installment of The Hairstyle Battle! Be sure to come right back here tomorrow for another blogpost! So until then, love ya lots like tator tots! And see you soon!
